EOTC Week

 Good Morning  readers, 

On Wednesday it was our last day of EOTC week ( Education outside the classroom).  On the first day of  EOTC week we went to Adrenalin Forest  and Spencer Park . We had to listen to the instructor so  we know what to do with the harness and we got taught how to  . On Friday we went to Mega Air and we did top team competition. On Monday we did roller skating in Selwyn Sports Center. We got taught how roller skate and it first i was a bit scared that I was going to fall but when i got told to take to take little steps like your walking normal  On Tuesday we did a Amazing race starting at the Botanic Gardens and it was amazing. I didn't care about winning all I care about it have fun with your team. In my team we had, Casper,Rableen, Elijah,Oakley, and Riley and we went different way to find the way to Margaret Mahy playground.  On Wednesday we went to Sumner for surfing  we got taught how to stand on it and my team .

Persuasive Writing Jamboard

 Kia ora readers,

In writing we are learning to persuade other  peoples ideas (change others opinions.) We created a hamburger planner so we could copy the work onto a Jamboard. On our Jamboard we had to write our statement at the top then have 3 reasons, and underneath that we had 2 more backup reasons for our reasons. After we were done all that we had to put it all together and make a conclusion. I also added a background that relates to the statement. I think…  Summer is the best season

Because… You get to spend time with your family in the beach and have fun.

My evidence:But on some days of January, February, the water temperature warms up to 20°C and above. The average water temperature in Christchurch in winter reaches 10°C, in spring 12°C, in summer the average temperature rises to 17°C, and in autumn it is 15°C.

I think…Strawberries are not the best fruit 

Because…  They can be hard and sometimes soft

My evidence:Any berry will taste blander in wet seasons or if the grower waters too much. The extra water dilutes the sugars in the fruit. And a third factor is sunlight. Berries grown in full sun do better and taste sweeter than those in part shade.

I think… Cats do not make the best pet

Because... You can not take them on a walk or run to the rivers but with the dog you can. 

My evidence:  Benefits include improved cardiovascular fitness, lower blood pressure, stronger muscles and bones (built up by walking regularly), and decreased stress. A regular walk is vitally important for your pet's health too.

I liked learning about swimming and I achieved  my goal of going to the big swimming pool.

My favourite thing to learn is the arm-stroke, bubble arm and breathing arm, and the frog swimming thing.

I think… dogs are better than cats

Because… Dogs can be trained to save you and you can have some fun with your dog.

My evidence:  Dogs get to be house-trained, and most will stick to their schedule. They’ll wait to do their business during a walk or in the yard. Source link

I think… 12 years old's shouldn’t get their license 

Because… They are too young to drive and they might get into an accident and their parents might  be paying for their cars. 

My evidence: . Auto accidents are the leading cause of death for teens ages 15 to 20. Obviously 12 years olds shouldn't get their license. Source link

I think… Lollies should not be allowed at school

Because…if you eat too much lollies you might get diabetes.

My evidence: it’s true that soda and candy are high in sugar and calories, but there isn’t any evidence that directly causes diabetes. Source Link

Today we went to Canterbury Swim School.  I did bubble and breathing and the skill that  I skill I practiced was the wiggly worm, over arm,. I was in a small group and their name was Nijesh, Marleigh, Yanit, and Casper. what I like about swimming is that we get to do the wiggly worm.

My goal is to go to the big pool.

How To Cross The Road Safety

W.A.L.T… use prior knowledge and knowledge gained from texts to learn about road safety
Today I am going to show you what me and my group have been learning about this week. I have learnt  that we have to cross when the green man is green. I have done a poster to show you how to be safe on the road. This poster is about road safety. If you are a young boy or girl just make sure you are with an adult before crossing. Something I did well is using some bright colours for my poster.
